PROFILE:

  • 3D Modeling / Rendering: Modeling organic beings, artificial structures, and mechanics.

  • Sketching: Proportions, color balance, light and shadow dynamics.

SOFTWARE SKILLS:

Autodesk Maya 8.5 / 2008

  • Extensive experience with polygonal and nurbs patch modeling in an organized and proficient manner.
  • Strong knowledge base of different aspects of hypershades, such as diffuse, bump, specularity, raytracing, globals etc, in co-ordinance with the default maya renderer and mental ray.
  • Expertise in lighting, using maya lights and environment probes for various effects.
  • Familiarity with the various effects such as fire, smoke etc, as well as paint effects.
  • Basic knowledge of MEL scripting and animation / rigging.

Softimage XSI 6 [Advanced]

  • Thorough knowledge of polygon modeling and other primitives.
  • In-depth knowledge of working in Render Tree and materials, and various rendering options.
  • Experience with components like cloth, hair etc.

Pixalogic ZBrush 3

  • Strong 3D sculpting skills.
  • Knowledge of all the various components including tools, alpha, stencil, texture etc.
  • Able to work efficiently using keyboard shortcuts for most actions.

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

  • Comprehensive work done for creating layouts, textures, designs, editing pictures, and adding effects.
  • Used extensively in several design jobs.

MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Worked with PowerPoint for numerous presentations for class discussions and some clients.
  • Used Excel to help update records of copy rights distribution in the movie industry.
  • Use MS Words in all types of documentation needs including letters, essays, applications etc.

CorelDraw 12

  • Extensive knowledge of vector designing.
  • Knowledge of print colors, screen printing, laser etc, using .cdr formats.

Free hand drawing / sketching
- Pencil and dry pastels, specifically with facial expressions, with an extensive knowledge of human anatomy.

- Flow for organic creatures, colors, and originality.

- Have worked successfully with various teams ranging of 5 to 12 in numbers. Able to work without egoistic issues, and to contribute and listen effectively.

Presentation skills
- Presented in front of more than 30 people on several occasions, including pitching an idea to the advertising agency for Rogers AT&T in Canada.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT:

  • Freelance Designer (12/2005-Present)
    Overview: Developing creative solutions for clients. Co-developed 3rd semester 3D modeling course at Ottawa University, specifically based on Autodesk Maya 5.0. Created 3D logos, and worked on different class projects based 3D and design tools.
    Clients: Campbell’s Soup-at-hand, Xyon Inc., VIB, York and Ottawa University.
  • Graphic Designer (04/2004-12/2005)
    Wilson Trophy Co.
    Overview: Designed sports team logos, awards, posters etc for sports and created design pieces for various business events.
    Clients: Rogers AT & T, Royal Bank, Pizza Hut, Primerica, Miss American Teen Beauty Pageant, and YBC
